"Nana" is what i call my grandmother on my mother's side. She is an AMAZING cook... Unfortunately, that's one thing she did not pass down to my mother... My Nana taught me this recipe. She is an amazing woman who i hope to learn many more things from...
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 2 uncooked pie crusts
- 1 cup dark Karo syrup
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 4 tablespoons milk
- 1 stick of butter, melted
- 2 cups of sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups of pecans
Instructions:

- Preheat oven to 350
- In a large mixing bowl, integrate the sugar and flour.
- Add the eggs, Karo, milk, vanilla and butter. Mix thoroughly. I will refer to this as the "gooey mess" later.
- With a fork, poke holes in the bottom of the pie crusts.
- Evenly distribute the pecans between the two crusts.
- Pour the gooey mess over the pecans in each crust, try to keep them as even as possible. Make sure all of the pecans are coated, but resist the temptation to stir.
- Bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before cutting and eating.
This is an amazing pie. One of my favorites. I am glad you got the cooking gene.
