This recipe was basically my own creation, inspired by some things I have seen on the Internet. They are super easy
Ingredients*:
Ingredients*:
- Apples of any kind that are good for baking (take the number you want to make and divide by 2)
- Brown Sugar
- Cinnamon
- Butter**
- Water**
*=amount will vary
Instructions:
- Start by washing your apples and making sure they are free of any stickers.
- Preheat the oven to about 325.
- Cut the apples in half. Cut them so that you do not half the stem but instead make a star with the seeds. (So, along what would be the equator, if it were Earth...?) I suppose it would work the other way but I have nevar tried it....
- Take out the seeds and core of the apple, just so it makes a bowl in the center. (I use a melonballer for this)
- Place the apples on a baking sheet or dish with a lip on the edges with the fleshy side up. Sprinkle cinnamon over the exposed flesh of the apples.
- Take about a teaspoon or so of brown sugar and fill the bowl-like hole in the apple.
- **Butter. (Okay, this one might get a little complicated sounding, but it's not.) Cut the butter from the bar thinly so you have about or less than a teaspoon. Now, cut that teaspoon-ish square into four smaller squares so that you have about or less than a fourth of a teaspoon. Place one of those tiny fourth-of-a-teaspoon-ish squares on each of the apples, right on top of the brown sugar.
- **Pour some warm water into the bottom of the baking device so that it just covers the pan. This will keep the apples a little less dry.
- Bake at 350 until the apples are tender and the sugar is melted.
